Eugene Edgar “Gene” Page è stato uno dei più influenti musicisti americani; compositore, arrangiatore e produttore discografico attivo dalla metà degli anni ’60 fino alla metà degli anni ’80 e, come solista, ha pubblicato 4 album nel periodo tra il 1974 e il 1980.

Conosciuto per la sua maestria e per i suoi straordinari, e a volte intricati, arrangiamenti che hanno reso particolare e riconoscibile il suo stile musicale, il suo sound può essere ascoltato nei brani che ha firmato per Jefferson Starship, The Righteous Brothers, The Supremes, The Four Tops, Barbra Streisand, Donna Loren, Martha and the Vandellas, Cher, Barry White, The Love Unlimited Orchestra, Dionne Warwick, Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, George Benson, The Jackson 5, Roberta Flack, Elton John (in “Philadelphia Freedom”), Leo Sayer, Marvin Gaye, The Temptations, Frankie Valli, Helen Reddy e Lionel Richie, tanto per citarne alcuni.
Gene Page è deceduto nel 1998 a Westwood, in California, all’età di 58 anni.
